IAAS LC Unpad Plants 83 Tree Seedlings on Mount Geulis

IAAS (International Association of Agricultural Students and Related Sciences) LC UNPAD cabinet ALLAXIAAS carried out a tree planting activity to celebrate International Earth Day. The event, titled “Tree Planting Event: Planting Hope, Saving Earth,” was held in the Gunung Geulis area, Jatiroke Village, Jatinangor District, on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

During this tree planting activity, IAAS LC UNPAD had the opportunity to collaborate with the Forestry Department, Gunung Geulis Communication Forum, and Bening Saguling Foundation. Bening Saguling Foundation is a foundation located in West Bandung Regency with a focus on social and environmental issues. In addition to celebrating International Earth Day, this activity also aimed to encourage the surrounding community, especially students, to be more concerned about the natural environment. During this activity, IAAS LC UNPAD received an award from the Forestry Department and the Acting Governor of West Java as a form of appreciation for its environmental conservation activities.

During the event, each participant planted two avocado seedlings in a previously prepared area. Participants were given instructions on how to plant the seedlings properly before beginning the planting agenda. A total of 83 avocado seedlings were planted.
